when I did my research on where to stay and what to do in New Zealand, there was an overwhelming number of articles and videos about driving around with a campervan. A lot of the cool places to see and do are not around big cities where there would be hotels, hostels, etc. So I decided on a campervan. The first company I chose sent me an email a few days later saying they were fully booked, so I went with Wicked Campers. Check out the video:
Last year I was hired by a company to play an event in Australia, and this time they hired me to play an event in New Zealand! So I packed my bags and went... I wish it was that easy. Watch the video to see how it is bringing everything I need to play a successful show overseas!
Last weekend I had the privilege of performing at my friends wedding, it was fun and great, but there are a bunch of moving parts to make everything happen. This includes meeting with the wedding couple (sometimes a few times), practicing music on my own, practicing with the band, creating song sheets, sending info to the sound engineers, etc. (you get the idea)
Here is a "behind the scenes" look at what I do as a full time musician in Las Vegas. I think some of you will find it interesting :)
I've always posted fully finished videos that I create for that purpose of making a cool video, but i'm really enjoying this blogging style of video, so I think i'll be making more of these, not just for the fans who enjoy my cover songs and originals, but also for the musician who wants to know more about the life of a full time musician too.
I was in wine country recently in southern california, and it inspired me to make this rendition of an awesome John Denver song. check it out here:
Here is a cool version of "Cold" by Maroon 5 which I sang vocals on. Sometimes I have requests on facebook for me to sing. Here is one of those collaborations with Mondaze. Enjoy!
I'm excited about the release of my new single "You Never Know"! you can get it here:
I'm excited to show you what I have in store for this battle of the bands!
I have a couple of good friends that are going to help me out, AND i'm going to feature a band new song!
Even before moving to Las Vegas in 2013, I heard of Zappos thru a friend who loved the culture and the idea of how Zappos was different in the corporate world. He even said I should read Zappos CEO Tony Hseih's book "Delivering Happiness". And I did. But this was even before I knew Zapppos was located in Vegas, much less downtown Las Vegas. Downtown Las Vegas is really where I see the original music scene is making a comeback. I feel Fremont Street is a small version of 6th Street in Austin, TX.
Over time I have become friends with many folks that work at Zappos and have even performed many times at their events. One day I got an email from Jessica Hall, who has enjoyed the music, wrote me an email about changing the hold music for Zappos. Hold music usually is the awful, boring jingle that usually makes you even angrier when put on hold with the credit card company. Making a long story short, Zappos has now made my "Sidewalk Guitar EP" it's hold music!
I'm really excited to be a part of this awesome company, and hopefully when you call you won't have to be put on hold, but if you are know that you will hear my voice.
